National Library Week 2014: Lives change @ your library

Phoenix Public Library - by the numbers:

  • nearly 5 million people visited our 17 locations last year
  • they checked out more than 11 million books, CDs and DVDs
  • more than 147,000 children and their parents attended our storytime programs
  • customers visited our website more than 36,.2 million times
  • volunteers contributed more than 29,000 hours to the Library

But numbers only tell part of the story.

We're celebrating National Library Week, April 13 - 19.  In honor of this year's theme - "Lives change @ your library" - we asked you to share your stories with us.  Here are just some of the stories we've collected.
